It’s very easy to tap the (amplified) ABS wheel speeds in the cable harness that runs next to the shifter
Start by unscrewing the tunnel by the gear stick, lift the plastic as far as you can and open out the shroud surrounding the cables there. Find the light green wires described & pictured elsewhere. You need only hook up to one – I chose the light green / pink. Use a soldering iron to melt the insulation a bit and attach a wire to it take this wire to the stereo (tricky this bit – my route was convoluted – under the floor carpet, along the side carpet, up the foot well and in behind the dash on the drivers side, behind the dash (took the instrument pod off) to the radio).
Hook it up to the speed sense pin – was labeled in my Blaupunkt manual.
In the wiring harness there are green and light green wires. The difference is fairly subtle in color. Make sure you get the right one! The four wires from the ECU to the ABS computer are light green with red (marked LGR in the wiring diagram), light green with yellow (LGY), light green with pink (LGK) and light green with gray (LGS). I also found a solid light green wire, no idea what that one is for. Don’t use it 🙂
A great picture of a blooming Cherry Tree in our front yard. Spring has Sprung!
Sakura is the Japanese name for cherry trees and their blossoms. In English, the word “sakura” is equivalent to the Japanese flowering cherry and their blossoms are commonly called cherry blossoms. Cherry fruit (known in Japanese as sakuranbo) comes from another species of tree. In China the cherry blossom symbolizes feminine beauty, the feminine principle, or love in the language of herbs. In some countries, such as Japan and China, observing Cherry trees in bloom is almost a national pastime.
The famed “Tondelayo” of the 345th Bombardment Group known as the “Air Apaches” as it served in the 500th BS. The Tondelayo was one of three B-25Ds that sunk a 6,000-ton freighter in the South Pacific during World War II. Its story was unique in the fact that During the battle, the Tondelayo’s engine was shot out and for over an hour it combated 50 Japanese fighter planes as it headed down the New Britain coast. The other two accompanying B-25s were shot down during the battle. The plane’s turret gunner was given credit for shooting down five Japanese fighters and the crew earned the Distinguished Unit Citation and Silver Stars. Despite tremendous damage “Tondelayo” was returned to service after it was repaired… like a phoenix rising from the ashes.
Tondelayo was named after the sexy actress Hedy Lamar’s character “Tondelayo” in the 1942 film White Cargo.
Defense Secretary Gates today announced that the F-22 Raptor program is scheduled to be cancelled.
The new budget halts new orders of F-22 fighter jets and allocates billions of dollars in new funding for such low-tech weapons as the unmanned drones being used to hunt insurgents in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
